The sea is dangerous and its storms terrible, but these obstacles have never been sufficient reason to remain ashore ... unlike the mediocre, intrepid spirits seek victory over those things that seem impossible ... it is with an iron will that they embark on the most daring of all endeavors ... to meet the shadowy future without fear and conquer the unknown.

Princess Caribbean Cruise: Aruba

This time, we reserved a balcony room and opted for a two week cruise on the Princess Caribbean (although the 7 Night E. Caribbean Cruise is far more popular) in part because of Family Cruise Rates

We hate being closed in and when sailing; it is a pleasure to be able to lounge on your own private deck to view passing ports. Our vow in 2008 was that in the future, "all cruises will be with a balcony to enable us to escape air conditioning, which is really cooled, recycled, stale air . . . not to mention enjoying sunrises and sunsets from our private deck such as this on our way into Aruba.

Fodor's Aruba, Bonaire & Curacao

Aruba is now one of the Caribbean's most popular destinations due in part to the dozens of high-end resorts lining its beaches. Fortunately a halt has been called to this over-development-in-the-making.

Arikok National Park, encompassing approximately 18 percent of the island, is an area of unique scenic beauty, flora and fauna, geological formations and cultural resources. The highest points in Aruba are located in the park and include Arikok and Jamanota hilltops.

The Arikok National Park land area encompasses the three primary geological formations that shape the island of Aruba: the Aruba lava formation; a quartz diorite formation; and a limestone formation extending inward from the coastline. The rock outcrops, boulders and crevices between the various formations create micro- climactic conditions that support unique examples of indigenous flora and fauna. As a result, the park is the habitat of several animal species found only in Aruba; hiking trails wend through its scenic beauty.

This tiny island off the coast of Venezuela has an exceptionally dry climate and is considered one of the most desirable in the Caribbean. Its desert landscape, with divi-divi trees, cactus, and aloe vera set against the backdrop of azure skies and the blue-green water of the sea provides the perfect setting for a holiday of relaxation and renewal of energy. The beaches are carpeted with silky white sand, The cooling trade winds, low humidity, and an average year round temperature of 82° complete the picture of a tropical paradise.
